Learning Updates
Literacy: Grade 3 students focused on practicing the skills they learned last week, which included adding correct suffixes like s/es to nouns to make them plural, and adding suffixes like ed/ing to verbs.
Math: We reviewed our Place Value Show What You Know assessment this week. Lots of students will continue to work on practicing money, rounding and skip counting! We also started a new Math topic called Statistics. We learned about different types of graphs like tally charts, dot/line plots, bar graphs and tables.
Social Studies: We learned about the other three main regions of Alberta, including Rocky Mountains, Parkland and Grassland. We also went on a community walk and took pictures of our favourite nature items using iPads! Next week, we will use adjectives to describe and label our pictures.
Science: This week, we learned about the water cycle and how important it is for Earth. We also created a little water cycle experiment in our classroom! We encourage you to try making one at home and observe what happens!
