 Learning Updates

Literacy: Grade 3 students started "Show, Don't Tell", which is a type of writing where students are encouraged to describe what we see, feel, hear, smell instead of just "telling". For next week, our high frequency words that students will focus on and ensure it's spelt properly are "but, not, what, all, were".

Math: We finished our last few topics in Place Value, including practice to skip count by 3s, 4s, and 25s. learning about Canadian coins and rounding. These topics will continued to be practiced throughout the entire year.

Social Studies: Students started learning about Alberta regions this week, including Foothills, Boreal Forest and Canadian Shields.

Wellness: For Remembrance Day, students sang Oh Canada, had a moment of silence, listened to "The Last Post", read a story called "What is Peace" and drew a field of poppies.

Science: We began a new topic called "Matter". This week, students learned about the three different states of matter and how it changes between one another. Here is a fun experiment you can try at home! Talk to your child about the different states of matter at each stage of the experiment.
