 Important Updates

1. Please complete the enrolment form from Mrs. Brinson's email if you haven't yet!

2. Next week is a full week of school! We have lots of exciting learning activities planned. Please keep your eyes on the weather as Calgary is constantly changing!

Learning Updates

Literacy: We became publishers this week and made a good copy of our circle stories. We can't wait to share them with our family and friends!

Math: Grade 3 students continued learning about fractions. We focused on putting fractions on a number, comparing fractions with the same and different denominators while using fraction strips, and played some fraction games!

Science: This week, Grade 3s learned more about different types of consumers, focusing on herbivores, carnivores and omnivores. We made our own food chains, presented it to the class and completed a visual journal page about it!

Social Studies: Students learned about the provincial government this week. We compared how it's similar and different to the municipal government.

Wellness/Health: We had the opportunity to learn more about healthy foods with School Impact Program. We talked about whole foods, processed foods and ultra processed foods. We also made a yogurt parfait to enjoy!

Student Highlights

Neepseese said: On Monday, instead of gym, we did morning recess, because Mr. Newton was substituting for Ms. Nakaska's class. In Math, we did Beat the Teacher and three beat the teacher and Ms. Qi had to do four sheets. They were addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

Yoon said: On Monday, in writing, we made paper books for our circle stories and we finished our rough copy. There are six pages in the book, we planned how many sentences were going to be in the book. If there's twelve sentences, you could divide them and write two sentences in a page.

Oleg said: On Wednesday, in gym, we did Drum Fit. We worked together to create a song dance with the groups.
